Ceramic platter/bowl with Bubnivka-style painting featuring a flowering branch design Ceramics of Podillia

Ceramic bowl featuring Bubnivka-style painting and a flowering branch motif by Ukrainian artisans from 'Podillia Ceramics' — a blend of centuries-old Ukrainian traditions and cozy aesthetics for your home. The piece is crafted using the unique Bubnivka painting technique (originating from the village of Bubnivka in the Vinnytsia region), which is recognized as an element of Ukraine's intangible cultural heritage.

The History of Bubnivka Ceramics

The Bubnivka pottery craft emerged in the 19th century and gained worldwide renown thanks to dynasties of master potters. A key feature of this pottery is the geometric and floral ornamentation applied to wet clay using a slip trailer (horn) and the 'flandering' technique; this creates delicate, flowing patterns in a traditional color palette of terracotta, brown, white, and green.

Please note: The painted design is inspired by traditional Podillia patterns; the item is not a replica or copy of authentic museum artifacts, but rather a modern, creative interpretation.

Symbolism of the bowl's ornamentation (interpretations based on traditional motifs):

• Feathers (peacock tails): A design element symbolizing beauty and spiritual flourishing; it is also considered a protective talisman.
• Central rosette ('Little Sun'): A symbol of life-giving energy, light, harmony, and family warmth.
• Wavy lines along the rim: A symbol of the flow of time and the vitality of life..." ...strength and infinity.

Usage and Care Instructions:

• Thanks to traditional double firing and a high-quality glaze finish, this bowl is suitable for everyday use.
• Microwave: safe for reheating.
• Oven: safe to use (we recommend placing it in a cold oven to avoid sudden temperature changes).
• Dishwasher: not recommended; wash by hand using mild detergents to preserve the integrity of the glaze and the vibrancy of the pattern for years to come.
