It may seem that the embossing technique is simple - in fact, it is applying an imprint of a carved board to the fabric, but, like every craft, it has its own subtleties and technology, which is strictly followed by folk craftsmen (the so-called "chimneys", ""printers"", ""painters"")

Handmade folk embossing is a unique phenomenon in Ukrainian folk art. The embossing technique is older than embroidery and was invented at the beginning of our era. The motifs of the ornaments are diverse and very symbolic.
