Forward to the past

Two students, who were not particularly interested in history before, go on an excursion to the museum-reserve "Field of the Battle of Berestek", where they are transported to the eve of a significant and fateful battle led by Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. Knowing the reasons for the defeat of the Ukrainians in this battle, the friends try to convey them to the Hetman, as well as their plan for the battle. Before its very beginning, the boys return back to modern Ukraine, in which they are met by drastic changes concerning many things, which start with the result of the battle of Berestechko.

Viktor Bulyga was born in Rivne in 1965. Studied at Chernivtsi State University. I started writing in the 90s. At first, these were film scripts. It is clear that not all of them were filmed, some remained in the drawer, but some still made it to the screen. Among them are the full-length TV feature film "The Amber Tale on New Year's Eve", the short feature film "Tunnel", which in 2015 participated in the SHORT FILM CORNER section of the Cannes Film Festival, the musical feature film "I Love the Museum", which participated in 30 film festivals around the world , the film "Cavaliers", the winner of the festival "Poltava Dock" and many others. Last year, the premiere of the full-length documentary film Hamlet of Light, created during the full-scale invasion, took place at the Odesa International Film Festival.
Having found time between writing scripts and making films, one day I took out the script "Forward to the Past" from my drawer, which had already gathered a little dust. Considering the fact that the heroes of the film were supposed to be famous Ukrainian athletes who have already finished their sports careers, in order not to lose the material, he adapted the film script into an adventure fantasy story for children and adults. That's how he ended up on This Craft. Read for your health and transform yourself into cinemas or sports arenas and the fields of iconic battles for Ukraine!

This book was created and published as part of the charitable project "Kentavrida". In 2022, our charitable foundation "It's Craft" initiated a project where writers write works based on the history or legends of Ukraine, and after competitive selection, some works are published in the "Centaurida" collection, and others you can read in electronic form. The project is designed to dispel the remnants of inferiority and disrespect for Ukrainian culture and our historical figures, and most importantly - to form such a good level of knowledge about Ukrainian heroes and values that there will never be wars and strife on our land again.
