Collection of works "Centaurida - 2023"

You are holding in your hands the first collection of works published as part of the "Centaurida" literary competition. Every year we published collections of books based on the history and legends of Ukraine, so that Ukrainians believed in themselves and could make a choice when the question arose between Light and Dark .

You will read the works of experienced writers and those who are just starting out on the literary path. But each work is a reproduction of a time in our history. You will get to know the heroes who lived in the present lands of Ukraine during the time of the Scythians - in the 8th - 4th centuries. BC. Learn about how we built relationships with the Hellenes and how we moved from bloodshed and revenge to diplomacy. You will walk the paths of almost fictional adventures and learn the secrets of forgotten mythical creatures. Thank you for choosing this collection, because it is all about you and me for us and future generations.

The first collection included the works of the following writers:

1. Volodymyr Kobzar "Sacred Paths of Vo and Saga".

A story about the life, adventures and love of young Vo and Saga, our ancestors, in the steppe between the Bug and the Dnieper, near an unusual area sacred to ancient peoples. Our ancestors, the boy Vo and the girl Sagi, who survived the fall of the asteroid and accidentally met in the Great Steppe between the Dnieper and the Bug, give rise to a new tribe.

2. Kateryna Kolesnyk "Defenders of the Forest".

A fantastic story about the mystical Drought, which covered the entire south of the country and continued to take land meter by meter. The main character goes on a journey together with his faithful magician friends. On the way, fate divided the heroes and reunited them, each time they found themselves one step closer to death, but always came to each other's aid.

3. Serhiy Shturkhetskyi "Borysfen's Last Choice".

Historical story about the events that took place on the territory of the southeastern coast of modern Crimea 1200 years before Christ and preceded the formation of the original Taurian ethnic group from the Cimmerians, which would survive for millennia. We will find the Hellenistic view of some events of that time in the myths about Iphigenia, and the Taurian view will be revealed through the drama of King Phoantas and his son Borysthenes. It so happened that father and son will love the same woman, but will have different views on the further development of the state. What transformations will this lead to the Taurian state?

4. Oksana Tribun "Tales from the Shelter".

As soon as the war started, the grandchildren of one family were visiting them. And in order for the children not to be scared and not to increase the level of anxiety, adults invented that as soon as anxiety begins, they will go down to the shelter to hear a new fairy tale that has just been born. Grandfather and grandmother invented new and new fairy tales, through which they told about the present, how to behave in difficult times, how to love your Motherland. These tales are about the present.

This book was created and published as part of the charitable project "Kentavrida". In 2022, our charitable foundation "It's Craft" initiated a project where writers write works based on the history or legends of Ukraine, and after competitive selection, some works are published in the "Centaurida" collection, and others you can read in electronic form. The printed and electronic collection of winning works can also be purchased in the Books section.

The project is designed to dispel the remnants of inferiority and disrespect for Ukrainian culture and our historical figures, and most importantly - to form such a good level of knowledge about Ukrainian heroes and values that there will never be wars and strife on our land again.
